Edith Garrard, formerly of Brandwood Park, Stacksteads, died peacefully at Olive House Care Home, Bacup on 1st November, aged 79.
A cremation will take place at 11:30am at Burnley Crematorium on Friday 15th November, afterwards at Bacup Cricket Club.
Edith was born and lived all her life in the Bacup area. After working on the family farm and attending Blackthorn School, Edith started work at Suttons, aged 16, where she completed 40 years service and made many friends.
Widow of the late Vernon Garrard, who died in 2014, Edith was happiest spending time with her family and friends and looking after her two granddaughters. She enjoyed many cruises with Vernon and family holidays to Florida. Edith's spare time was spent on her many hobbies such as card making, gardening, flower arranging, baking and cake decorating.
She leaves her daughter Nicola, son in law, Adrian, granddaughters Amelia and Emma, sister Jean, brother in law Tom, sister in law Vivien, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Family flowers only with donations to LCC Olive House. Funeral director, Anthony Johnson Funeral Services, Bacup.
